Rachael Ray has opened up about her health after a video showing her slurring her words went viral last month, raising concerns among her fans.
In the first episode of her new podcast, *I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead*, the celebrity chef revealed she’s been recovering from injuries, which she sustained while doing household chores.
“I’m a homemaker at heart. I love chores, especially being in the kitchen,” Ray shared. “I work with my brain every day, writing or creating, but physical work is where I find joy.”
Addressing the viral video, she broke her silence, explaining that her love for physical labor, like preparing meals and even hauling wood, is something she takes pride in. “I enjoy what some might call ‘hard work,’ like planning meals and carrying firewood. I even compete with my husband, John, in my head. I always think, ‘Can I carry more than him?’” she admitted with a laugh.
However, the 56-year-old revealed that her routine was disrupted after experiencing “a couple of bad falls” over the past few weeks. Though she didn’t elaborate on the exact circumstances or the extent of her injuries, her admission sheds light on her recent absence and the concerning video that alarmed fans.
The clip, posted in early September, had sparked concern after viewers noticed her speech was slurred and her face appeared slightly drooped. One fan speculated it could be a stroke, writing, “Look at her mouth. It seems like she might be recovering from a stroke.” Another fan worried about her health, adding, “She sounds tipsy and looks bloated. I hope she’s getting the help she needs.”
Despite the outpouring of concern and speculation, Ray had remained silent until now, addressing the situation on her podcast, reassuring her fans that she’s been focused on recovery.
